Note on Hegel's Measure Section from the Logic
25 is immediately itself as a result, but equal to 5 squared, or the 5 as the rule. However 25 in itself is 25 to the power of 1, so what seems like an immediate result is actually also a mediated rule. This can be done an infinite number of time I assume, so 25 can infinitely move through its own rule into every other quantum, but this does not stop the result from being its own measure in kind, OR the 25 can stay the same but this does not stop it from having an infinite number of rules that can result in it. So every quantum as immediacy as an unchanging result is immediately every other quantum already as far as a quantum is a number moving through its own internal rule of self relating the power, and every other determination of a quantum out of its rule into every other quantum will still result in another quantum it is equal to that itself is also its own rule. So the internality and externality of the quantum as external determining and self determining disappear into each other. The only thing that then distinguishes a quantum is the how it becomes every other quantum which will always be based on its relationship to other quantum through the supposedly inessential external power the rule goes through. For example what distinguishes 3 and 4 to the power of some variable when both equal some number is that each will only equal each other in their result when they have different powers, and each of points where these exponential lines intersect with these different powers become "nodes" (I think don't quote me on that) with there being a spectrum of more or less between each node that brings a degree of affinity between the two or more root numbers depending on how it moves away or toward the nodes. However every point in between the nodes is itself a distinct quantity with a self relating rule, so Hegel says when internal determined quantity moves through itself it will inevitably have what he calls "leaps" that qualitatively change how it is relating to other quantities as rule, yet these leaps happen in an instant upon hitting the nodes that create resonance between the rule of quantities. This eventually leads to Hegel saying all measure is a self defeating contradiction, and the only way to overcome this contradiction is to double down on it and that leads to the doctrine of Essence.
